[#Gifted] 92% Real Cica!?

Today’s blog post is centred around one of the latest additions to the Some By Mi family – the Real Cica 92% Cool Calming Soothing Gel 💚 Some By Mi have added this Cica Gel to their AHA•BHA•PHA 30Days Miracle line knowing well the widespread appreciation for Cica (Centella Asiatica).

This gigantic 300ml bottle is made with:
• AHA, BHA & PHA to refine skin texture with light exfoliation,
• 920,000ppm Centella Asiatica,
• 3 layers of Hylauronic Acid,
• Salicylic Acid for pore care,
• Tea tree leaf water for additional soothing and anti-inflammatory effects.

It’s free from 20 worrisome ingredients including no artificial dyes or synthetic fragrances.

Full ingredients

Water, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water, Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Lens Esculenta (Lentil) Seed Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera Flower Extract, Swiftlet Nest Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Fructan, Allantoin, Adenosine, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Xylitol, Salicylic Acid(100 ppm), Lactobionic Acid(100 ppm), Citric Acid(500 ppm), Sodium Citrate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Benzyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Raspberry Ketone, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil

For me this is an ideal product to act as a soothing base after toner and essence but before serum, moisturiser, etc. Undoubtedly, it cools down skin and basically serves as a refresher for sensitive or tired skin. I like to use it after a shower on my face and body to minimise redness and reduce pore size.

I found it to be slightly more hydrating that Aloe Vera Gel and Cactus Gel, but they are very similar both in texture and the way they make skin feel. I’m going to continue to use this as a rapid non-sticky source of hydration on my body, mainly reaching for it when my skin has unexpectedly badly reacted to another product. Sometimes I like to use it to reduce the puffiness under my eyes and as a hair styling product for controling frizziness and split ends.

  1. I love their toner and have repurchased over and over! The serum didn’t do anything for me though. What’s your experience?

    1. You mean the cica and tea tree toner (the green one)? I loved both the toner and serum from that line, they worked well as a duo for me. Using them separately didn’t seem as effective for pore care.

  2. I have tried all of the cica line of somebymi, even their yuja, teatrea, snail line but their cica line works the best on me! Definitely recommend for combination, acne prone skin like me. I’ve been using these for almost 2 years and these helps me combat maskne! 💚

    1. Great to see someone else loves their products too. I’d say the snail line is my favourite, but the cica toner and serum help me most because like you said it contains a lot of cica (and tea tree).

      Thanks for stopping by 🙂
