Stylekorean x Benton – Goodbye Summer Acne Kit #trymereviewme

Introducing the 𝐒𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞𝐤𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐱 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐛𝐲𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐜𝐧𝐞 𝐊𝐢𝐭 ☀️ (#trymereviewme event*). This is a carefully selected kit comprised for some of Benton’s most loved skincare products for oily and acne-prone skin types. All of the products included aim too soothe, provide anti-inflammatory ingredients, and restore/balance skin’s hydration levels to ultimately aid in the recovery of acne. ⁣

With the warmer weather present acne-prone skin types like mine tend to breakouts more often now, and more that ever. To help with such issues this kit includes the Benton: ⁣

Benton are not a new brand to me. I’ve been supporting their brand for the last few years, and have enjoyed and reviewed some of their slightly newer products during the pandemic. However, I haven’t used any of the products in this bundle before; many of which are customer favourites and award winners. Benton have taken leaps and bounds over the last 3 years by transforming themselves into a trustworthy and reliable skincare brand. They recently started to use cardboard packaging made from recycled paper which is printed with soy ink to match up to their principal value of helping people to make eco-friendly choices when it comes to selecting cosmetics. This month marks Benton’s 10th Anniversary, so make sure to look out for special deals across all their products at Stylekorean.

Aloe Hyaluron Cream ($19.99USD)

A non-heavy yet nourishing cream type moisturiser which leaves skin feeling smooth and firmer with the replenishment of essential moisture. Its formulation holds a 7-hyaluronic complex and kind-to-skin aloe extracts which add up to a mighty 80%.

Key ingredients & other info:

• Aloe Leaf Water (40%)
• Sodium Hyaluronate of high, medium & low molecular weights
• Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid and derivatives
• pH 6.

Review – This combination of ingredients has created an ultra-smooth cream texture that leaves lightweight residue, a finish that’s not too noticeable, and simply forms a moisture barrier on the epidermis for prolonged moisture retention that lasts throughout wear. In a sense the texture is reminiscent of a snail cream when first applied, but settles on skin like an almost undetectable gel-cream hybrid. I honestly haven’t tried another product like this before, and therefore have nothing to compare it too. It’s unique, great for a weak skin barrier and compromised skin types.

Aloe BHA Skin Toner ($19)

This watery and refreshing daily toner brings together Beta-Hydroxy Acid and skin soothing Aloe Leaf Water for gentle chemical exfoliation, pore care, and skin-calming benefits. This multifunctional toner holds 0.5% worth of salicylic acid in addition to Sodium Hyaluronate and Vegetable Glycerin to supply moisture to skin with powerful moisture retention.

Key ingredients & other info:

• Salicylic acid (BHA)
• Aloe Leaf Water
• Beta-Glucan
• Snail Secretion Filtrate
• Hyaluronic Acid
• Free from alcohol & fragrance
• Slightly acidic to maintain a healthy skin pH
• HwaHae Consumer Beauty Award winning product.

Review – I was pleasantly surprised by how easy the texture is to apply. It slips across skin easily when applied using your hands or a cotton pad of some variety. The Aloe Leaf Water holds a lot of moisture and it’s only just a tad more viscous than pure water – this texture therefore doesn’t cause stickiness, and I believe the Beta-Glucan and Hyaluronic Acid do a great job at providing even more moisture than the aloe already provides. After almost two weeks of daily use I have started to see a slight difference in the prominence of my sebaceous filaments. I now MUCH prefer this toner to my previous BHA toner which made my skin feel itchy and dehydrated. I didn’t experience any purging when introducing this product into my routine.

Goodbye Redness Centella Gel ($20)

This can be best described as a specialised centella gel which soothes problematic skin while delivering essential hydration and nutrition. It’s infused with a staggering 80% worth of Centella Asiatica extract, and further includes other active ingredients to improve the appearance of redness, while also protecting skin against external irritants within our ever-changing environment.

Key ingredients & other info:

• Centella Asiatica + derivatives (Asiaticoside, Madecassoside, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid)
• Tea Tree Leaf Extract
• Heartleaf Extract
• Tea Tree Leaf Extract
• Unscented & colourant free
• pH 6.

Review – This gel is a fast absorbing product ideal for use at the moisturising step of a morning or evening routine. As this is a plant-based formula it doesn’t add oiliness to skin, on the contrary it helps to balance skin’s water-to-oil ratio. This gel provides a sufficient amount of moisture for dry-oily skin types, and retains this moisture well for long-lasting results. This gel helps me to reduce skin redness after cleansing, and doesn’t impair the effectiveness of the skincare products I layer on top of it.

Goodbye Redness Centella Spot Cream ($16)

A spot treatment which combines soothing Centella Asiatica Extract, Tea Tree and skin protecting Calamine to give a helping hand in diminishing the appearance of spots/pimples. This pink-tone spot cream can care for pinpointed areas of skin, but can be used all over the face. The pink-tone settles into skin neatly and evenly without leaving a pinkish-white cast when applied correctly.

Key ingredients & other info:

• 42% Centella asiatica extract
• 10% calamine
• Peppermint and tea tree oils.
• Free of volatile alcohol, PEGs, and silicones.

Review – I found that this spot cream has great anti-inflammatory effects and didn’t dry-out my skin in comparison to other calamine skincare I have used in the past. However, in relation to application I’d say it works and applies best when used on breakouts rather than the entire face as the pink undertone of the cream is easier to distribute evenly when applied in small amounts. It’s not too thick and doesn’t have a tacky finish so it’s fine to use before sleeping without the fear of the cream completely transfering onto your bedding.

Goodbye Redness Centella Mask Pack x5 (box of 10 masks – $28)

A wafer-thin, lightweight sheet mask generously soaked in a non-sticky essence which delivers hydration necessary for helping with the recovery of irritated skin and breakouts. Its main purpose is to deliver skin-soothing benefits derived from Centella Asiatica, which aid in minimising inflammation and redness associated with acne-prone and sensitive skin types.

Key ingredients & other info:

• Centella Asiatica
• Hyaluronic Acid
• Licorice Root Extract
• Vegan S-Cell sheet
• Cruelty-free
• Hypoallergenic/suitable for sensitive skin
• Slightly acidic to match skin’s acid mantle.

Review – This mask does a particularly great job at calming down itchiness, cooling down skin temperature and reducing the redness of irritated areas of skin including breakouts. It adheres closely to skin and doesn’t shift out of place during wear. The essence isn’t too watery, nor too thick. It leaves just the right amount of residue to work into skin after removal of the mask. Skin is left feeling well hydrated and more settled. I like that it doesn’t contain fragrance, and is practically scentless.

A+Cica Body Wash samples

As a functional cosmetic for helping with the recovery and prevention of body acne, its job is to remove traces of sweat, and other common acne contributing factors. It contains skin-friendly surfactants sourced from natural ingredients.

Key ingredients & other info:

• 0.5% salicylic acid (BHA)
• Rosemary, Artichoke, Calamine, Centella Asiatica.
• This body wash is suitable for all skin types as it has a low pH of 5.5 (±1).

Review – When dispensed from the packaging this body cleanser has a pinkish-white appearance which then turns into bubble foam when lathered with a small amount of water. The creamy bubbles cleanse skin thoroughly, but don’t leave skin feeling dry or tight. I don’t have body acne, although I agree that this is still a great body wash for me and other people with sensitive skin types regardless whether you experience body acne or not, because it’s non irritating and balances skin’s pH level. I also find the delicate natural herbal aroma to be very pleasant.
