‘Treat your skin with food’ – Skinfood 🍯🫒 – One Brand Review (#trymereviewme)

Skinfood is not only a classic Korean roadshop (highstreet) brand used by people of all ages, it is a 64 year old brand devoted to creating skin-loving skincare formulas since 1957. Their core focus is to extract the nutrients of various fruits, vegetables and plants, to deliver essential vitamins to skin in the simplest way possible. Nowadays, they use a mixture of nature-derived ingredients grown on Korean soil as well as from pristine regions within Europe. Some of their best selling products are their wash-off masks, propolis essence, egg white cleansing foam, and black sugar serum – some of which I will be discussing.

Skinfood Egg White Pore Mask

What a classic! 🙌 Everyone into K-Beauty, new or a pro, knows this product – am I right? This is the product that stopped me from thinking eggs in skincare is weird. Use this on your oily or combo skin one per week for gentle pore care. It soaks up excess sebum and isn’t as drying as a clay mask. I actually buy this myself from time to time, so it instantly gets a thumbs up from me.

Skinfood Black Sugar Wash Off Mask

A cult classic featuring Black Sugar and skin conditioning Macadamia Seed Oil for polished skin that’s flake free. Fair enough, physical exfoliants aren’t for everyone, but they are a lifesaver for those with dry skin or other skin types which experience skin-textural issues. I use this mask-scrub once weekly to buff away dead skin cells to deter those tiny bumps that tend to appear on the forehead.

Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Enrich Essence

This delicious essence is a fully nutritious potion containing 63% Black Bee Propolis extract, 10% Royal Jelly extract, and 10% Black Honey extract to build a firm skin barrier which is also radiant. This is the product you go for if you want “honey skin” which gleams and is oh so smooth to the touch. Because of the rich antioxidant and anti-bacterial properties of the key ingredients within this essence, it’s fab for acne-prone skin. Honestly, it’s a steal for $32.

Skinfood Carrot Carotene Moist Effector

A vegan certified serum which has been created with Carrot Seed Oil to nourish and hydrate skin. Again, this product helps to achieve more radiant skin due to elevated skin hydration levels, and is a simple way to deliver some vitamins to your skin. Personally, I find that the Propolis essence is rich enough for me. And therefore I don’t need to use the moist effector more than once daily.

Skinfood Carrot Carotene Calming Water Pad

Another vegan product registered with The Vegan Society (UK) & Korea Agency of Vegan Certification and Services (KR). It holds hydrating Carrot extracts to restore skin-deep moisture after cleansing. Usually, toner pads don’t interest me much, but these are just what my skin needs. The pads are very soft, and leaves skin feeling hydrated without a sticky residue.
